The Saints Alive will visit the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville. It was built by Mother Angelica, founder of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), and was consecrated in late 1999. What started out as a private monastery grew into a monumental complex of European style architecture in rural Alabama. Following the tour, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant. We will then visit the Evelyn Burrow Museum on the campus of Wallace State Community College. We will view the collection of delicately crafted porcelain and artful everyday wares. The Evelyn Burrow Museum’s vast collection includes more than 5,000 objects, primarily of porcelain, pottery, glass, and bronze from the Victorian era to modern times. We will leave Grace at 8:30 AM and return about 4:30 PM.
