Cost of Discipleship Study Begins

January 19 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

From January 19th to February 23rd, Bill Baldwin will lead a study in the School Cafeteria on Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM to discuss several chapters from “The Cost of Discipleship,” written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. In this work, he wrote, “Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate. Costly grace is the treasure hidden in the field; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has.” Dietrich was writing in Germany in 1937, when the church was facing a time of great trial. In this context, following Jesus could mean the loss of everything. What are the trials that we, as followers of Jesus, face today? What does “The Cost of Discipleship” have to say to guide us? Come join in the study and see!
